Heal the Past
An Affirmation by Alice B. Clagett,  6 March 2018

Here’s an affirmation to say, to heal traumatic events that happened in the past. And as you say this affirmation, the important thing is to say it very slowly, with relaxed lungs and relaxed heart, and to inhale very deeply, and exhale very deeply, as you say it. And it goes like this:

What if I were now        (inhaling)
The grown-up person   

To whom that never      (inhaling)
(exhaling)     (x2)


You’re lying on your back, in corpse pose, arms at your sides, hands palms up. And you’re saying it in your mind … in your emotions … and not out loud. And first you do a long inhalation:

What if I were now …

And then exhaling very long and deep:

The grown-up person …

And then inhaling long and deep:

To whom that never …

And now, exhaling long and deep:


And each inhalation and exhalation is the same length of time.
