An Incomplete Rhyme … a prose poem by Alice B. Clagett

AN INCOMPLETE RHYME
A Poem by Alice B. Clagett
27 January 2012

May I be like the Yerba Santa,
able to take the heat,
to live in the rough, wild places
turning my face to Thee;

Blessed with the power to heal
in my flowers, my leaves and my roots.
May the eyes of the world walk right by me,
and never so much as look.
