Somersaults … a poem by Alice B. Clagett

SOMERSAULTS
A Poem by Alice B. Clagett
30 September 2011
in Southern Colorado

This road lays out the country
like an endless Persian rug
in shades of taupe and bone
and dry green pioneer knowhow
edged in purple garlands, sparse,
against a pale blue wall of early autumn sky.
